The Pooled Fund is administered under the guidance of the Investment Committee. The Investment Committee, comprised of investment and business professionals, sets investment policy and directs implementation. Our Committee members are accomplished in their field, and apply their collective experience and expertise to the careful management of the Foundation’s endowment. The responsibilities of the committee include:
- Development of investment strategies and philosophies
- Investment objectives and decisions
- Asset mix targets and ranges
- Selection, appointment and termination of investment manger(s)
- Evaluating investment manager performance
After careful considering and evaluating presentations from a series of excellent alternatives, and taking into consideration the growth of the JCFC’s endowment, the Investment Committee determined in 2016 to adopt a multi-manager approach. Funds are currently divided between Gluskin Sheff and Associates and Mawer Investment Management Ltd., two of Canada’s foremost investment management firms.
KPMG, one of Canada’s largest accounting firms, annually audits The Foundation to ensure it is being managed in a manner that reflects the highest degree of integrity and is in accordance with proper accounting practices.
